Far from Home is a 1989 crime thriller and slasher film featuring Drew Barrymore as Joleen Cox, a 14-year-old on a cross-country road trip with her father, Charlie Cox, played by Matt Frewer. The story begins when their car runs out of gas in the remote town of Banco, Nevada, forcing them to stay at the Palomino Guest Ranch and Trailer Park, run by the surly Agnes Reed (Susan Tyrrell). The trailer park is home to eccentric residents, including Jimmy Reed (Andras Jones), Pinky Sears (Anthony Rapp), and Amy (Jennifer Tilly), and becomes the setting for a series of mysterious murders.
