Developed by Joymax and released on October 1, 2005, Silkroad Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). It's estimated that the number of players added to the game from private servers outside of Joymax's control will reach 500 million, with over 250 million in Europe and Asia alone.

Based on the characters of commanders from Chinese and European civilizations, the game reflects the cultural and economic trade between ancient Asia and Europe. Silkroad is a unique MMORPG experience with massive maps and high-quality graphics set across China and Europe, all in a game that supports Turkish. The game's objective is based on two professions: hunter and thief, and progression depends on the characteristics of the chosen profession.

There are two races within the game: Chinese and European. Whichever race you choose when you first register, you will progress with that race and will never have the chance to change races again. Since each race has its own unique characteristics, your progress in the game is based on the characteristics of your race.

The Chinese are further divided into warriors and mages. They are skilled in the use of weapons and can act both individually and in groups. Europeans, on the other hand, are better suited to moving in groups.
