The Tranquility Rod's ability involves playing a vertical-scrolling rhythm game consisting of four lanes, instead of the standard reeling minigame.

The player must time their key presses as the notes fall. Each press is judged as either SICK!!, Good!, Bad, or counted as a miss based on accuracy. Successfully hitting notes advances progress, while missing notes results in a deduction of progress. Progress also slowly drains over time.

The rarity of the fish determines aspects such as the note speed, hit windows, miss penalties, and progress drain. The rod's own stats also affect the minigame; Control widens hit windows, Luck softens miss penalties, and Resilience reduces note speed.
