Log in to your Microsoft account (https://setup.office.com).

Click on get started.

Enter your product key and click on next.

Confirm your product key, click on next.

Set up recurring billing, click on No, thanks. Don't choose the 1-month for free option, it will turn ON your recurring billing.

Are you sure? Click again on No, thanks.

Click on Redeem.

Click on Continue.

Click on Manage subscription (top right corner) to share your key with up to 5 family members.

Scroll down to share subscription.

Share your key ( copy link or email invite) with up to 5 family members. All of the shared accounts are synced with the main account. Once you update the main account there is no need to re-invite your shared accounts.
